Exodus 18:17-23

17And Moses' father in law said unto him, The thing that thou doest is not good. 18Thou wilt surely wear away, both thou, and this people that is with thee: for this thing is too heavy for thee; thou art not able to perform it thyself alone. 19Hearken now unto my voice, I will give thee counsel, and Yahuah shall be with thee:

Be thou for the people to Yah-ward, that thou mayest bring the causes unto Yahuah: 20And thou shalt teach them ordinances and laws, and shalt shew them the way wherein they must walk, and the work that they must do. 21Moreover thou shalt provide out of all the people able men, such as fear Yahuah, men of truth, hating covetousness; and place such over them, to be rulers of thousands, and rulers of hundreds, rulers of fifties, and rulers of tens: 22And let them judge the people at all seasons: and it shall be, that every great matter they shall bring unto thee, but every small matter they shall judge: so shall it be easier for thyself, and they shall bear the burden with thee. 23If thou shalt do this thing, and Yahuah command thee so, then thou shalt be able to endure, and all this people shall also go to their place in peace.

Moses had a very wise father in law named Jethro. He saw the miraculous works of Yahuah through Moses' hands and how He delivered His people using Moses and his brother Aaron. Jethro loved his son in law and did not want him to work himself into an early grave counseling Yahuah's people.

There are some wonderful things to take away from this passage. In it, we also see the great love and confidence Yahuah had in Moses as a leader. Other things include:

1. Today, Mental Health counseling has stigma associated with it, this does not come from Yahuah. Our nation has always sought the Most High's counsel from the beginning of our Exodus from Egypt.

2. We live in a fallen world overrun with sin and trauma. How is anyone considered unstable for trying to sort their lives out and manage the amount of stress they must encounter on a daily basis?

3. To seek righteous guidance and truth is of Yahuah.

4. To provide righteous guidance and truth is of Yahuah.

5. Minds can break just like bones and deserve to be healed and whole. HALLELUYAH
